For my third and final contents page I am going to analyze a kerrang magazine contents page. Kerrang magazine is a very popular rock magazine in the UK. In this contents which im going to analyze there is a lot of information n this contents compared to what there is from the other two contents pages. There are a lot of pictures on the page also there is writing with it saying all what is inside the page.

 The colour scheme for this magazine represents well to the house style which Kerrang use for all of there magazines. The colours they use is black, white and yellow this is i feel good colours to use as they are not childish colours and i feel them three are a good combo to use and they look professional.

The layout of the contents page is a lot different to what i have analyzed before in the other two contents page. The difference is that there is a lot more writing on here is such a little space. At the top right hand corner there is a big title saying 'contents' and all down the right hand side is the main pages in the magazine the audience want to read. There are 8 different pictures of bands and artists throughout the contents page which is dotted around the page. There is a pug on this contents page which isnt on the other two contents pages this shows competition which is available. Also at the top of the page there is a paragraph and picture of the author of the magazine explaining what this is.

The font of this contents is the same which is used throughout the whole magazine. This is important that the audience don't get side tracked thinking its another magazine. The colours used in the magazine show different styles in the magazine they use colours like yellow writing and black background, white writing and black background. I feel the fonts have look very professional.

For my second contents page im going to analyse is Q magazine. G magazine is a very popular magazine in the UK surrounding the music industry and has been a big hit over the years. In this contents page there is a title banner with it having the logo, the title saying "contents" and the date and issue of the magazine. Also on the page there is a main big picture covering most of the image which shows the main feature to the magazine which is the band The Courteeners. also on the page there is a lot of writing around all the left hand side and bottom to show what is inside the magazine.

The colour scheme for this Q magazine represents well to the house style of Q which is red, white and black the same house style of NME. I feel this is important to keep the same colours throughout the whole magazine to make sure the customers don't get side tracked by all different colours which are irrelevant to the Q house style.

The layout of the magazine for the contents page is with the main image being on the whole of the main image and the right hand side of the page to show the image of the main feature to the magazine which is the "the Courteeners."Also at the top there is a banner with the logo which is Q but small in the corner, the title "contents" with also the date and the issue number showing. Down the bottom there is two sections with explaining the review and telling you what is happening every month all the time in the magazine. The font for Q magazine contents is the same as throughout the whole magazine. This is important to keep it the same throughout the whole magazine to show that it is the same magazine and it represents well to the house style. This i feel represents very well to the house style.

For my first contents page I am going to analyze the contents page of the magazine NME. NME is a very famous brand which is sold all over the world and is one of the most popular magazines if not the most popular. In this contents page there is a big title saying "NME THIS WEEK" with the nme being the logo of this page. Also there is an image of the main picture is of the main feature to the magazine which this is important to advertise the main part to gain the audiences attention, also there is writing for the band index and there is the main pages to the magazine.

The Colour scheme represents well to the house style of NME which is red, black and white. This is the only colours which are used for the contents page. Also there are different styles of colours used such as red writing with white background, black writing with white background, white background with black background and white writing with red background. I feel these 3 colours are used very well in the page and I think it looks very good.The layout of the contents are all the band information which band each are on are all to the left hand side. Down at the bottom is an advert for when you subscribe to NME you can save money this is to advertise the magazine for better deals and to grab the customers attention.At the right hand side there is all of the main information to inside the magazine which only chooses the main parts to make the audience feel that they should read the magazine. The logo is placed bold in the middle so you cant miss it out. The font is the same style writing which is used for each of their magazines and they normally use the same font throughout the magazine this is to make sure you don't get side tracked by thinking its not NME where it is. The main colour used for the font is normally black with the white background this is used again here but it is not the only colour and style used throughout the page, there is also red writing which makes it stand out to the left hand side. All the colours used for the font all represent well to the house style.

Maslows hierarchy of needs is a theory in psychology. This is represented in a table shaped a triangle with five layers to it. These five show it being physiological, safety, Love/ Belonging, Esteem, Self-Actualization. In media this is portrayed to what i will be basing for my magazine with the audience and what they want. I will be basing my target audience around trying to reach the Esteem and Self Actualization sections to get not just the average readers for magazines but to establish all different kinds of target audience. Examples for the hierarchy for a few of these sections are like, the physiological aspect to Maslows theory is the basic part to the pyramid it shows how living organisms function including processes such as nutrition, movement and reproduction. Another part to Maslows theory is Safety. This shows the condition in which shows being protected against physical, social spiritual, financial, political, emotional and occupational. Also parts to his hierarchy system are essential to the audience you would want from a magazine is esteem. This is important for a magazine as esteem is about confidence and how you respect others or how your respected by others. For example if you was to wear a designer make of clothing you would feel alot more better than if you was to wear a lot less branded make of clothing. Throughout the whole hierarchy from the bottom to the top it starts off with standard day living and this gradually gets higher and this is based on how its advertised. This is important and an example is of bottled water,all different types of branded water are at different prices and some people would think the higher the price the better the quality meaning they would buy this. This can depend on how the gender and level on the hierarchy ladder.

For my third and final double page spread im going to analyze this two page spread which is from NME which is a famous rock genre. NME is a very popular rock music magazine which has been out for many years. In the double page spread it contains a big speech heading saying "People think i'm an attention seeker, But i'm Just honest" and a big picture as the main background image this is of lily allen in a red chequered shirt. Also a lot of writing taking up most of the double page spread.

The colour scheme represents well to the house style of red, black and white compared to the previous NME magazine double page spread i analyzed as that had a house colour of blue, white and black. I feel that the magazine colours represent with the colours as there isnt a red colour used through the computer to make the double page spread but i feel that Lily Allens shirt represents the red part to the NME house style. For the titles in the magazine there is no title but there is a big heading of the speech she used to advertise in a way the double page spread to show what she is talking about in the extract. This is appealing so the customers reading this then know what the main focus is about and who they are. The layout of the writing is placed mainly to the left hand side to show the main image and that nothing goes over it to ruin the image. There is only one big image at the right hand corner to the page showing what other people are talking about. The speech heading goes across the two pages and it is layed out to make it look like a newspaper extract with bold capital letters and small letters. The font for the writing of the speech heading is the same as the NME logo this is to show the reader that it is a NME magazine. The colour of the font i feel is used very differently and i feel it looks very good as the colours have been made to stand out which they have successfully done. Even though it does not match to the house style.
