This is an issue of the magazine called billboard I will be analyzing. Billboard is a famous music magazine which has been around for many of decades. It contains a masthead, this is very bold so that the audience can see what brand the magazine is so they can recognise it straight away. The Billboard logo is the boldest piece of text on the cover for obvious reasons to show the reader what the brand of the magazine is. The colour scheme for the billboard logo is that on the board for each hole in the writing there is a different colour for example red or yellow or blue.This magazine looks a very modern magazine compared to other magazines i have analyzed.There is also a picture of the main feature of the magazine, this is Soulja Boy and this tells the audience the main feature that is going to be inside the magazine. The masthead is in to the top of the front page and is the same colour like it is on every issue for many decades, this makes it easy to recognise and people who want to buy this particular magazine can easily tell this is billboard. This is so recognisable as billboard that the picture of Soulja Boy is covering part of the masthead which in most billboard magazines normally overshadow the logo.The font used for the billboard masthead is used throughout the front cover and inside the magazine, this is another way to make it recognisable to people looking to purchase it. Also the colour scheme's they use for this magazine represents the house style of billboard which is white yellow,red and blue which has been used for many years.For the layout down the right hand side are more stories that are inside the magazine, the headline of the story is in big white letters and a small tag line about the story is underneath in a smaller white font. Also there is only one pug and this covers over the top of the b on billboard magazine masthead. This is a blue colour with white writing.The main reason to why the writing is layed out to the right hand side is that it would then not block out the main image of the front cover which is Soulja Boy's face. there is no barcode for this magazine on the front cover. Also compared to other magazines there is no banner at the top or on the page.
